The Event: Sewtopia Chicago
Sewtopia is a weekend where attendees can leave all the stresses of daily life behind to indulge themselves, focus on sewing projects, and get together with friends, old and new. This event will have two classes, a shop hop, open sewing time (until midnight all three nights, can you hang?), swaps and unabridged laughter…

Where + When?
Chicago, IL: April 16-19, 2015

How much does it cost and what’s included?
A ticket to Sewtopia: Chicago is $375, it includes:

  • Shop Hop Thursday, April 16, 2015
  • Open Social Thursday night, April 16, 2015
  • Classes and lunches for Friday and Saturday
  • Access to Sewtopia’s Sewing Lounge after classes are done
  • Swaps and any challenges (if you choose to participate)

Lodging Options:
Our event will be at The Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago. You may stay wherever you’d like, but Sewtopia will be at The Drake Hotel and there is a discount for sleeping rooms.

How many years has the event been presented, and how many people typically attend?
This is the first series of events as a Sewtopia team. The Chicago event will have 80 attendees and is more than half-occupied.

What does a typical day look like?
On Thursday, we will have a shop hop during the day and start our open sewing that evening into the night.
On Friday and Saturday we will have classes with lunch provided. Afterwards we will have open sewing when classes are not in session. We have two fantastic teachers for Chicago: Rita Hodge of Red Pepper Quilts and Latifah Saafir from The Quilt Engineer.

Are there other things to do in the area?
We are headed there shortly to find fun things and great places for dinner!
