Heather Seminelli from Quilts Actually has a new paper pieced pattern for you, coming up next. First learn more about Heather and check out QA Creations for looks at her summer sewing, facts about Heather’s life and all of her latest work!

From Heather: I am a former Army helicopter pilot turned stay at home mom, quilter and sewist. I began quilting in 2010. I’m still not sure what bug suddenly bit me to buy a sewing machine and take classes at the nearest quilt store (a two hour drive, one way!), but I loved it and haven’t looked back. I was so addicted that when I deployed to Afghanistan, I purchased a Featherweight online and had it shipped to me! I began quilting in a more traditional style, and still love intricate and traditional blocks, but I also love all of the modern fabrics.

Since leaving the Army, I became a longarm quilter and would love to help you finish your projects! I have a quick turnaround, and my business helps to support my military family (my husband is active duty Army). You can see my work at QuiltsActually.com. I love all quilting styles and can quilt both modern and traditional quilts, although my longarm guild refers to me as the “modern quilter” ever since I showed one of my quilts that used modern fabric.

In a common story, I sewed my first dress when I was pregnant with my daughter. With complete ignorance of the fact that garment sewing is supposed to be difficult, I just followed the directions and made some garments that I am still proud of today (even with a little more experience). Now I still make quilts, but sew for my 18 month old daughter and even myself. My personal projects are on my blog, QA Creations.

I firmly believe that I can do anything with good enough instructions, and that is what I strive to provide in my own patterns. I currently have my first paper pieced pattern for sale in my QA Creations Craftsy shop. The corresponding Square Dance paper pieced tutorial is available here. I am preparing to release a full version of that pattern this fall with more block sizes.
