Oakshott Lakes Table Linens Challenge with Michelle

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks!

It’s time for another fabric challenge! We asked readers what they could create with the rich blues in the Oakshott Lakes shot cotton fabric collection. Shot cottons are woven; the warp and weft strands are different colors giving them each a distinct and special color while ensuring that all of the fabrics in the collection work well together. With a lovely drape the Oakshott Lakes fabrics all work well for quilting, bag making, table linens and more!

Fall and winter mean more time indoors in the Northern Hemisphere, so we thought a table linen challenge would inspire us to do a little extra sewing for the home. Our challengers do indeed inspire! Mary Claire King of Remember Wren, Michelle White of Falafel and the Bee, Jessica Skultety of Quilty Habit, Nicole Neblett of mama love quilts, Sara Peterson of knottygnome crafts and Anjeanette Klinder all created something unique and beautiful with the pretty blues in this collection.

Enter to win your own Oakshott Lakes bundle with your comment below! Tell us what you’ll make with the fabric if you win.

First up is Michelle White from Falafel and the Bee who made a new runner for her eight foot long dining room table. Here in the Pacific Northwest the “dark rains” have been slightly… torrential! Michelle’s runner adds bright cheer to her home. She writes, “The colors in this collection are beautiful, and have that iridescent sheen that we love Oakshott fabrics for. I kept the pattern fairly simple so that you can really see all the incredible colors and their subtle differences. I always feel so decadent sewing with these fabrics. They remind me of jewels…”

See more at Falafel and the Bee (there’s a pocket!) and don’t forget to comment for a chance to win your own Oakshott Lakes bundle.
