Kelley Gilbert, with her great sense of what’s trending in the online sewing world, joins us each month from Casa Crafty. Kelley always has something new she’s working on for herself or for her kiddos, even as she transitions to a different work schedule. What are you sewing lately? Do you have spring clothing on your mind? Are you stuck indoors, sewing away?

In the Northern Hemisphere there is life out there alerting us that spring is on it’s way. (Even if the groundhog says otherwise!) There are flowers popping through the snow, and rain clouds come and go. We need comfort, lighter jackets and florals. Here’s to February!

Bombers:

Depending on how you feel, you can make a bomber out of silk or wool. Make it sleeveless and you’ve got a cool vest. With layers and all alone, this is a cool staple for every one.

Fabulous Quilts:

While some are simple, others are not; all of these quilts pack a punch. From a geometric base come some beautiful examples of quilting.

Animal, Vegetable or Munchkin?:

It is a time honored craft staple to turn our munchkins into little animals with their wardrobe. But sometimes it’s just fun to make animals FOR them! With animal prints, animal ears or animal shapes you can bring the wild in, and then let it out again!

We all need comfort. Whether it’s a favorite pair of leggings, or a supreme pullover. How about a perfect tee shirt? Or maybe the ultimate trousers?
