    HI! I love gradient quilts! They seem SO unattainable though! I’ve completed exactly TWO quilt squares–forever ago–and those took me about day and a half to make. Quilting is somewhat painful, if you ask me!

    I was REALLY discouraged by the last how-to quilt book that I bought. It would be great to have a MUCH better handle on the nuts and bolts. Oh boy what a disaster I am with how to cut fabric bits and assemble blocks!! I’m so painfully slow because I am pretty clueless, what with assembling things on the wrong side or upside down, you name it. My seam ripper sees more action than my sewing machine.

    I am a relatively new quilter. In August of last year, I joined the Wimberley (TX) Quilt Guild. Have had good times learning and making friends.

    I would share the book when I was done with it, with the members of the Guild. Some are new to quilting also. We had to cancel our meeting for this month because Wimberley was one of the areas ravaged by recent flooding. Many of the members were busy giving aid and assistance to the families affected by the flooding.

    Quilting is something I’ve played a bit with, but never felt confident of the rules. With garment sewing, you follow a pattern. Home dec is mostly lots if squares. To me, quilting is about precision and persistence and I don’t know where to start! I have the fabric stash, but need a bit of a shove (and some guidance) to get started.
