Hey, guys! I’m Sara! I’m Southern California raised, and currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah. I’ve always had an interest in fashion and clothing design. Throughout my college career I worked at Nordstrom, and found my true passion for sewing while studying clothing construction at Brigham Young University. A little over a year ago I started my blog called The Sara Project, sharing patterns I’ve designed, and those of other designers as well. I have a real passion for recreating garments I find that truly inspire me, or simply creating my own pieces that I feel I have a need for in my wardrobe. I’m a wife, and mother of two. I love being a mother first and foremost, but I also find a lot of joy when they are snug in bed, and I have some time to myself to immerse in my sewing projects. I love the creative outlet and feedback my blog provides me.
I really love this recent sewing tutorial I posted for an Anthropologie-inspired Pleated Midi Skirt. (I find a lot of inspiration from Anthropologie!). This skirt is so easy to make, and I love the midi look that’s in style for the upcoming fall season. Check out the full tutorial on The Sara Project.
