If you follow Sew Mama Sew on social media, by now you might have heard about my new venture, Craft Industry Alliance. My partner, Abby Glassenberg, and I have been working on it for nearly a year and we’re thrilled to finally have it out in the world!
Craft Industry Alliance (CIA) is a trade organization for craft professionals in all sectors of the craft industry. This includes makers, suppliers/retailers, designers, and pro bloggers in yarn, sewing, paper, jewelry and other spheres of the craft community. Our mission is to be a trusted source of industry information, inspiration, and community.
When you join CIA you’ll have access to:
- Our forums with a focus on small-business topics.
- Small groups with other members. We just launched the Friday Bookkeeping Club and are working on our first business book club.
- Our bi-weekly journal filled with informative articles and resources for craft professionals.
- Free webinars with legal, accounting, social media, business, and publishing experts.
We’re currently offering special prices for members who sign up within our first three months.
If you’d like to learn more, please take a look around the site and read Craft Industry Alliance: 4 Foundational Tenets.
You can also listen to me and Abby on the Crafty Planner Podcast where we talked with Sandi about how the organization evolved and the values and beliefs that are driving us.
We’re thrilled to have signed up nearly 300 members in just 10 days! We hope you’ll join our community of craft professionals–we truly believe that being allied strengthens our businesses and the industry as a whole. Please feel free to email hello @ craftindustryalliance.org or kristin @ sewmamasew.com if you have any questions.
