Do you have a stack of cool, old concert tees, outgrown kid t-shirts or just a ton of extra knit fabric? You can turn those tees into a modern quilt (Part Two is coming later this week) or now you can make a structured bag with Cherie’s how-to video!

Cherie from Studio Cherie and the Studio Cherie blog is a bag designer and maker extraordinaire. A multi-talented sewist, she showed us how to make Fleece Boot Socks and How to Slipcover a Storage Ottoman. (Cherie has a comprehensive Custom-Fit Slipcovers: Chairs class on Craftsy!)

Cherie’s bags made from screen printed ponte di roma.

Cherie’s local theater recently asked her to make flight attendant bags for their “Catch Me if You Can” performance (which, she notes, was fabulous!). The fabric the costume designer needed Cherie to use was a knit, so Cherie learned all about how to make a structured bag using knit fabric along the way. You could turn a favorite concert tee into a cool, new bag! The same techniques would work for turning old sweaters into bags too. Learn which products you can use to utilize your favorite bag pattern with knits.

Cherie is giving away the pink cinch backpack shown in the video! (This backpack was made with Cherie’s Cinch Back Pack PDF sewing pattern.) Watch the video and come back here to post a comment for a chance to win. This giveaway is open to international winners.
