Amy DeCesare loves to create beautiful things from fabric, buttons, ribbon and ric rac. She enjoys quilting, but her best-loved projects take up less time and space… Pillows, pincushions, mug rugs and purses. Since discovering the online quilting community, Amy has enjoyed sharing sewing and quilting projects in her blog, Amy Made That! She’s up next with some sewing tips for you!

Although her full-time job is a blood banker in a busy hospital setting, Amy also enjoys teaching people. She loves to write patterns, which is a lot like writing technical procedures… Except with pretty pictures! Amy’s patterns are written in a tutorial style, and her hope is that people will learn new skills as they make her projects.

Some of Amy’s favorite family members love sewing as much as she does. Amy’s grandmother was her first sewing mentor. She noticed that Amy loved home ec class, and she encouraged Amy’s parents to buy her a sewing machine before she finished junior high. Amy has lots of aunts, cousins and a sister who “speak sewing.” Amy’s aunt showed her how to make the fabulous “Aunt Ellie’s Casserole Carriers,” which is Amy’s most popular pattern.

Amy’s online alias is “eamylove,” and she writes patterns and creates handmade goods under the “eamylove” label. Visit her eamylove shop!
