Diane D. Knott from Butterfly Threads Quilting is the author of Scrap Quilt Secrets: 6 Design Techniques for Knockout Results.

Growing up, Diane loved sleeping under the beautiful hand-stitched quilts made by her great-grandmother. Born and raised in southern Louisiana, after graduating from High Point University in North Carolina she spent almost a decade as a flight attendant for American Airlines. She and her husband, Bill, are raising their three children in northern Georgia. When she was expecting her first child, Diane enrolled in a quilting class to learn how to make a baby quilt. Almost 20 years and many, many quilts later, she loves quilting for family and friends. Quilts made from the scraps of those quilted gifts are her favorites because there are memories in every stitch!

Diane is a contributing writer for Craftsy.com and her designs are published in various quilt magazines and calendars on a regular basis. She enjoys sharing her quilts with guilds and groups through trunk shows and workshops. You can find her teaching and workshop schedule at Butterfly Threads Quilting. When she’s not quilting, Diane can be found cheering for her kids at their sporting events, tending her vegetable garden, reading historical fiction or traveling with her family. She’s up next with some tips for you!
