We’re showing you all of our challengers’ fun felt projects made with the new bluefig U sewing kits! These pre-cut felt projects are designed to help kids learn to sew, and our six sewists and their children tested them out: LiEr of ikatbag, Alicia Brown of Felt With Love Designs, Kristy of Simply This Life, Cheri Paxton of Living DIY Style, Rae Ann Kelly and Vanessa Lynch of Punkin Patterns.

Each of our challengers thus far has mentioned the high quality of the felt in the kits. Vanessa from Punkin Patterns adds that she liked how some potentially-tricky items in the kits like zippers already have tabs attached and wide tape on the sides (no zipper foot necessary!). Vanessa and her children– Connor (almost 11) and Gwyneth (8)– picked projects from the bluefig U lineup. Connor is always drawing so the Li’l Wrap in peacock blue was a great choice to hold art supplies. Gwyneth added the Woodland Creatures adornment pack to her Li’l Briefcase project.

Vanessa writes that she “highly recommends” the kits for kids, and she has lots of great pictures of both Connor and Gwyneth sewing with the kits.

Check out all of the photos and hear what they had to say about the process at Punkin Patterns.
