When I started at Sew Mama Sew, blogs were mostly online “diaries,” my son was toddling around and I was in love with all of the beautiful fabric Kristin had in her Sew Mama Sew shop! Now my son is ten, my daughter is entering kindergarten in the fall and I am heading back to the classroom to teach. It’s been such a pleasure to get to know all of the talented business owners, artists, entrepreneurs, creators, movers and shakers I’ve worked with here over the years. In my decade as Managing Editor blogs grew into businesses, pattern design made it big, images became more important than words online, social media took over… It’s been fascinating to watch and learn along with everyone else. I’m 3,400+ posts into this world and I still learn new things all the time.
I loved contributing here and there, and I was proud to be a part of the many community-building projects we’ve done over the years at Sew Mama Sew (like IBOL and so much more). I had tons of fun with a lot of our series, like these great Back to School tutorials and our ongoing Small Business posts. I have a huge list of favorite projects we’ve shared over the years; I’ll include some of them below. I also have a folder of emails I received from Sew Mama Sew readers when I was on bed rest in 2010 for four months; I will be forever grateful for the boost those gave me, and for the prayers and humor and good wishes everyone shared.
Thanks to all of the contributors I’ve worked with on Sew Mama Sew, and thank you to Kristin for giving me the opportunity. Kristin has more good things in store here for August and beyond. If you ever need to reach me you can contact me via LinkedIn.

(And as far as an entire category goes, I think our Toys + Softies are fantastic. I love to sew for kids!)
