Welcome back for the eleventh day of our 10th Annual Handmade Holidays series! Natalie Santini curated a list of unique and quick projects for those of us short on time this Holiday season. Read on and get inspired to create some awesome gifts!
Today’s Guest Curator:
Natalie Santini from HungryHippie Sews
I’m Natalie Santini of Hungry Hippie Sews. I started sewing in 2009 when we moved to England and my world has never been the same. We are back in the USA now, in the glorious cheese capitol of Wisconsin. I work during the day as an RN, but my “real job” is making sewing and quilting patterns intended for the confident beginner. I list tutorials on my blog for all sewing levels, and share my sewing mishaps too – because nobody’s perfect right?! Sewing and quilting are my passions and keep me happy and mostly sane (though my husband would beg to differ.) I enjoy lots of color everywhere and in my neighborhood we’re known as “the people with the pink fridge”. You can see my awesome fridge on IG @sewhungryhippie or pOp over to my blog. It’s SO fun meeting other Makers, so if we can’t meet in person then drop me a note and let’s have a virtual cup-o-joe. OH–and why hungryhippie? Because I’m an Earth-loving, tree-hugging, recycle-everything-known-to-WoMan, anti-styrofoam, always-hungry Mama.
Lysa’s matchbook needle case is super cute and unique. The size of a matchbook to hold needles and pins, complete with red tipped “matches” from felt. This would be a perfect stocking stuffer or swap partner gift!
Hexie Wall Decor
Andy’s quick hexagon decor is perfect to dress up your BFF’s sewing room. I could see doing this same thing with cardboard hexie’s or posterboard, and sewing around the edge if glue isn’t your thing.
Amber’s fast apron’s are quick and make the perfect hostess gift. This apron could be sized down for little ones too.
Artist Jennifer Falkowski’s Pojagi window hanging has no wrong side, due to flat felled seams. This is a fun project done in an hour or two, and because there is no wrong side, it’s practically mistake-proof!
Applique Hexie Art
Maday’s easy applique hexies turned into a framed art piece would be a gorgeous gift. Her technique is fast and makes an impact. Plus, people will think you’ve worked for days on it.
Printable Wall Art
Melanie’s free printable word art. I’ve admired Melanie’s work for a while now, her hand lettering is amazing. Her Etsy shop is filled with hand lettered signs and quilting patterns.
Water Bottle Sling
Adrianne’s water bottle sling is a gift that is totally usable, every single day. Take it to work, on hikes, to the park, in your car… I want to make several. My kids need these, especially in the summer at day camp!
Comment on today’s post for a chance to win one of these prizes!
Tip: If you’re hoping to win a prize that notes “US shipping only,” include your state in your name (i.e. Beth in WA) so we can confirm residence and avoid any disappointment on your end. Shipping range is determined by the generous companies that contribute prizes.
