Give luxe for less this holiday season with this curated list shared by Sara.
Today’s Guest Curator:
Sara from Now Try This
Sara is a doctor by day and crafter by night, who chops and stitches in central London and writes at Now Try This.
Abby at SewMuchAdo has a great tutorial for a beautiful, personalized, fabric-covered notebook for any list-loving friend. This would be a great way to use gorgeous remnants that are on the smaller side. Or why not make a matching set of a larger desk diary and a pocket-size notebook to slip inside a handbag?
Leather Card Sleeve
Over at Craft Passion, Joanne will teach you how to make a luxe leather card sleeve. This would be a fab introduction to sewing with leather, for those new to it, and makes a beautiful gift for a difficult-to-buy-for dad or brother.
For the ladies, try this beautiful leather clutch from The Stitching Scientist, Remona. A daintier size than you regular handbag, but with space for everything you need for the party season! This metallic colour would be a great match for several outfits.
Embroidered Zipper Pouch
Or how about a little embroidered personalization, a la Erin at Sewbon? You could keep this simple, with initials or a name, or go out and create a beautiful personalized emblem. I love the metallic thread as a finishing touch.
Fur Boot Covers
I love these faux fur boot covers from Beth at Sew DIY – a wintry way to make warm and comfortable look “luxe” too! These would be a great simple make for those new to using faux fur.
Jessica of Sewing Rabbit will teach you how to make a luxurious, cosy longline cardigan for a stylish mother, sister or friend with this amazingly detailed but straightforward tutorial.
Snowdrift Slouch Hat
At Little Monkeys Crochet, Rebecca will walk you through this soft, slouchy “Snowdrift” hat which looks beautiful made up in wintry white.
Or for a more classic look, try this amazing cloche hat from Olivia at Hopeful Honey, in Christmas red and with a vintage feel.
Christmas Chalkboard Printables
Print some of these Chalkboard Printables to add some Holiday spirit to you gifts or to your mantle!

When knitting superstar Amy Herzog gets complimented on her hand-knit sweaters, the compliments are often followed by “but I could never knit that.” Now, you can! You Can Knit That is a clear, simple reference book and pattern collection that gives knitters the sweater-making confidence they need. Whether you’re knitting a sweater for the first time or seeking to expand your skills to knit sweaters in styles you’ve never tried before, this essential guide starts with basic sweater know-how and moves into instructions for knitting six must-have sweater styles—vests, all-in-one construction, drop shoulders, raglans, yokes, and set-in sleeves. Each chapter offers a less-intimidating “mini” sweater sized for a child and a selection of adult women’s patterns in 12 sizes—24 sweater patterns in all, each building on the next, to ensure success with even the most complicated sweaters.
