What are you sewing this month?
April is upon us. This means a few more blossoms, a few more allergies and the last of the cold and flu “official” season! Right now my family is mired in a mixture of those things and, when I get online, I love to see all of the joyous sewing. From the rise of Culottes (pun intended), to big cats and their friends, I’ve been seeing some great work in the online sewing community!
Let’s talk Rain-
If anything happens in April, it is the urge to quickly switch out our seasonal wardrobe too soon. The rain comes, the cold, the chill! Let these cool coats warm you up. It’s never too late to sew a jacket, whether it’s a blazer you worked on just for you, or the perfect raincoat with all the pockets YOU need. Outerwear is always an important layer.

Staples in Stripes and Grays-
We always see new, cool versions of our favorite tested and true patterns. Sometimes, a new tee shirt is just what you needed to make today, even if you have made them so many times before. Maybe a new Cardi? Or a boatneck top? Maybe one of these will spark your creativity with an old favorite today!

Big Cat and Friend-
While animal prints on the whole are always “in”, I have been seeing more and more incredible big cats and predator prints being used. Here are some projects and fabrics that cater to the predators!

Flint and the Culottes-
With the weather changing, I am seeing a great many culottes make their way into the sewing community. I’m tempted to make a pair myself! The main pattern I have seen in use is The Flint Pant by Megan Nielsen Patterns. Here are some truly great examples!
