Dunno if there still is interest, or if the groups were formed, but I would be VERY interested. However, I am on disability and don't really drive too much. I live in Hazel Park and would be glad to open my home to a small group!

Maybe you can post a photo of it? Or check sewing.patternreview.com for that pattern to see if anyone else has answered your question there?

I would do the applique first and then cut the pieces. That way you can move the pattern template around to make sure that it is positioned right where you want it to be.

I am making a peasant dress with a machine applique, do I sew the dress first or sew the machine applique first?

You probably have found a solution already since this post is old. But I'm replying here in case others ever have the same problem.
If the painter's tape didn't work, then maybe grip tape would. It's a special kind of black tape that is used in film/TV/music. It typically doesn't leave adhesive behind, and it sticks and removes easily from almost any surface. (You'd want to test it first on a scrap of fabric.) You can find it at theatrical lighting supply stores, or if you know someone who is a musician or who works in film/TV or at a nightclub, they might have a partly used roll they'd be willing to give or lend to you. |

For those of you who make quilts with solid color cotton fabrics, what brands do you use? I try to purchase from a variety of brands for best color variety--often when I'm at a retail store.
But right now I'm looking for specific colors to color match for a project, and am planning to look at color swatches from a few brands. Aside from Kona, what other brands are there? Thanks! |
