I use a Janome MC4900. I noticed that ever since I tried to do some heavy duty sewing (think a couple layers of Peltex, llight weight fusible interfacing + 4 layers of fabric), my machine seems to be just louder. It doesn't purr like it used to brand new. I've narrowed the noise down to a couple instances:
1) When the needle moves to the right while doing a zigzag stitch
2) When the needle pierces down into fabric more than double layered (muslin)
3) When the bobbin casing thing spins and the needle slightly touches some sharp pokey metal thing
I've done the basic cleaning/maintenance I can think of, and nothing has changed. So at this point, I'm not sure what to do other than take it in to the sewing machine doctor. I'm just trying to see if anyone else has had this problem or if there's anything I can try to look at before I bring the machine in.
