    hair canvas?
    on: June 15, 2008, 09:00:48 AM
i looked it up and now i know what it is but is there an alternative? I can't find it anywhere and don't really want to order it online (i am all about immediate gratification and can't wait for it to be shipped). i asked at JoAnn and the woman cutting the fabric didn't know what it was.

i'm making mccall's 5641 view b. has anyone made this (maybe not this view but at least used this pattern)? I was wondering if fleece interfacing would work - either sew in or fusible?

    any advise would be great

    thanks is advance!

If I understand it right, you need a tailoring interfacing.  If you can't find hair canvas, try Hymo which is stiff and holds it's shape.  Joann's  online has carried it in the past for relatively cheap.
I haven't made the pattern you have so I can't recommend an alternative, but I do know that hair canvas can be scratchy so watch where you put it.
