Any great patterns for toddlers and preschooler boys?

I have 2 boys, and I am looking for some great patterns for the spring/summer?  One boy is 12 months and the other is 4. Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks!

I just sewed my son lots of shorts from the simplicity 2907.  I love the fit!  I added another cargo pocket to the other side and he LOVES them.  He is 3 and I also made some for my nephew that is 2.

    Added photos to show,

Take a look at the Oliver & S patterns offered here at Sew Mama Sew. FYI, the Sailboat Top, Skirt & Pants is actually a unisex pattern, even though SMS only shows the girl image (the boy image in the pants is on the back).

I'm glad it's not just me! I've been having trouble finding patterns too. I've made up my own simple pants/shorts pattern, but any top patterns you could recommend would be great!

Thanks for the info!  I have a son and two daughters....the girls get everything made for them, and my poor son is left out.  He asked me for a pair of shorts the other day, I'll check out that Simplicity pattern....

Hi!!!  I just yesterday posted on my blog about a little boy outfit that I made.  I used the "Luke" pattern by Pintucks and Petticoats.  You can see a picture on my blog if you'd like:  http://sew-blessed.blogspot.com/    I put some hand embroidered trim on mine so I could use it at my Smocking Guild meeting...but no trim is necessary.  The pattern actually gives information to use piping if you'd like.  Any questions...just ask!

Good suggestions! It is so hard to find good boys patterns. I want to check out the Oliver + S patterns now.

In the past I have always sewn for little girls. Now that I have a baby boy I have been looking for projects to make for him too. I was looking through some sewing books the other day and found one that I thought had some cute boy projects. It was called Stitched in Time.

I also would recommend the Oliver + S patterns in the shop, but there's also a few more.  Here's a link to most of the ones SMS carries for boys:
                    Little Hooded Jacket- http://www.sewmamasew.com/ccp0-prodshow/PTFTHJ.html
                    Little Sleep Well- (PJs)- http://www.sewmamasew.com/ccp0-prodshow/PTLISW.html
Little Smarty Pants- (Which I just ordered for my boys.  The shortts have belt loops!)- http://www.sewmamasew.com/ccp0-prodshow/PTFTLP.html
                    Sandbox pants- http://www.sewmamasew.com/ccp0-prodshow/PTOSPB.html

Here are the pattern reviews for the Sandbox pants (http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=588) and the Hooded Jacket (http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=209) from SMS Blog.  Check out more pattern reviews for children here: http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=686

                    Have fun!

I am loving this post--it's so hard to find patterns for little boys.  I feel like I could make a list and never get it all sewn of things to make my daughter, but my 3-year-old son...shorts, shorts, and more shorts!  I'm glad for the inspiration.  Thanks!
By the way, I use a pattern from www.youcanmakethis.com called Easy Fit Pants for boys and girls too by CarlaC for all my shorts and pants.  It is SOOOO easy and you can make shorts, pants, (capris for girls), etc.  You can whip them up very quickly and it includes many sizes.

                      Good luck!!

My new obsession - Heather Ross's Weekend Sewing book- has a cute boy's shirt - called Kai's shirt.  I have not made it yet, but it is on the list for my little guy.
