What are you making?

    What are you making?
    on: April 13, 2009, 10:09:28 PM
I'm curious as to what everybody is making or getting ready to make now that Easter is over. I have a few peasant tops cut out for Caitlin. I really want to make a few pillows for my sister for her birthday.
Do you have your eye on any certain pattern?

I'm going to make a skirt for my almost 3 year old using a tutorial from "Grand Revival Designs", a dress for my almost 6 year old daughter from the "Miss Madeline" pattern I just bought Smiley, and a little dress from a pattern I'm testing for "leila and ben".  I'd also like to try crotching a rug and start on a quilt.  We'll see how far I get... I just finished my first Amy Butler Gum Drop pillow last night (I've only had the pattern for a year..lol!) and want to make some more matching pillows for my living room.  I also have two blouses cut out, 3 quilts on the go, two new designs for purses, and I just bought some new fabric for summer skirts!  Now if only there were more time in the day..... (or maybe just more time for sewing every day!)

Lots of fun little purses- and Vogue 8379.  I don't make a ton of garments so I'm doing a muslin first.  Anyone done this before?

Baby sewing is almost finished for now...I need to make a little vinyl-lined bag for carrying dirty clothes while on the go and perhaps a nursing cover although I have one.  I'm just waiting to find out if this baby is a boy or a girl--then I imagine a slew of clothes and other accessories will follow.

I am in the middle of making 13 child aprons from Elizabeth's blog for my 6 yr old's girl scout daisy troop!!  I only modified it a little because they won't be reversible and are made with a stiff twill fabric.  Thanks for the tutorial Elizabeth!

Those aprons are so cute. My to do list gets bigger & bigger all the time.
I love baby sewing Elizabeth!! My favorite of all things to make.

I am working on picnic food covers, using nylon netting and fabric around the edges.....like binding a quilt, almost.  It's the dead of summer and we've been eating outdoors a lot......!!!!  Works like a charm, keeps the flies off the food!

Hmmm. What's in the sewing machine is a plain canvas bag that needs a strap sewn on.

I have matchy Heather Bailey fish outfits cut out for the kids that have been sitting here for two months. I think it's Heather Bailey.

I have apron fabric draped on my mannequin for an apron sew-a-long.

I have two tote bags cut out and ready to sew.

I want to make myself a skort which I do have the fabric picked out for.

I finally picked out fabric for a blouse for me for a shir-a-long.

It's hard to sew summery clothes when it's been rainy and cold 25 out of the last 30 days. (Also I've been caught up with spinning and knitting, which I guess feel more appropriate to the weather!)

I was feeling overwhelmed, but after seeing everyone else's list I feel like a total underachiever!

                          bedroom pillows
                          pool robe for the princess
baby gift for a shower this weekend
searching for fabric for a buttercup bag for me

A wing chair slipcover with a quilted seat/back/arm portion out of cute cottons. Making me crazy! A wing chair can be tricky enough without doing part of it as patchwork!

I just finished a purse organizer and checkbook for a friend.  I am working on a purse for a friend.  I am also making an apron for an autistic boy for a paying customer.  He likes the movie Cars and Camo, so I am making one of each for him to choose from.  I have just about decided to give him whichever one they don't choose to buy, so he can have both.

I am making ammunition belts. A friend of my sister sells stuff at gun shows & I'm making as many as I can get done before Saturady. At first I didn't like making them but now that I have 5 made I'm ok with it. I would rather be making clothes or purses but this pays me a bit of cash so I'll do it.I never in a million years thought I'd make ammuntion belts!!
