      yes, definately having support behind your machine and to the left of your machine really helps.  Forgot that little bit when I responded earlier.  I'd love the have Carol Bryer's set up in the link.  Wow!

          This was my exact question!

          Im still trying to finish quilt #1 as when I tried to topstitch diagonals they got all wonky trying to push them thru my regular machine. I'm now hand quilting which is so time consuming & discouraging for quilt #1.

          Let me know how things work out for you.
          Ill be looking for some quilt clips.
