I picked up some fabric that I would love to use on a new quilt. It is pictured here:
http://duringquiettime.blogspot.com/2009/04/stairwell-quilt-ideas.html. It is a Hoffman print but because I bought a precut fat quarter, I do not know the name. It has a metallic sheen around the edges of some of the flowers. I am wondering if anyone has experience washing fabric like this in cold water and then drying on high. I had hoped to do that with the finished quilt in order to get the crinkly look but am worried that the heat of the dryer might ruin the metallic part of the design. Am I better off prewashing everything and avoiding the crinkled look? Has anyone tried this?
