      On the "day in the park" backpack tote, I used a lining behind all the brown leaf fabric.  Every piece with that fabric is actually a sandwich of the brown fabric then canvas, then heavy sew in interfacing.  It was a bit of a pain to have all that when you are sewing, but makes the look and weight of the bag.  I am going to try to make the bag again and experiment with different types of interfacing, including an iron on batting type.
