presser feet question

    presser feet question
    on: May 12, 2009, 10:57:16 AM
OK, so if the trading up thing doesn't work out (see my other post!), I at least know that I want some more presser feet...like some of the cool ones I've read about on here...the blind hem one, the pintuck one...

I was looking online and there are some generic ones that cost way less.  They say that they will work with my Bernina (the snap-on kind).  Is this a good idea?  Or is it best to stick with the real thing?

There's no doubt of Bernina quality.  The number of feet options are amazing with this company and best of all- they work very, very well.  I have all original Bernina feet with my machine so I cannot advise you about generic feet, but I have heard some negative experiences with the generic feet.
If you are planning on keeping your machine for some time, I would go ahead and invest in original Bernina feet.  If you are still unsure if you will be keeping your machine, I would go for the generic feet.

Is there a possibility that the same feet will fit your current machine and the one you may upgrade to?  A lot of the Bernina feet fit most of their newer machines.  I would check it out and see.
