Costumes for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
    on: July 22, 2008, 09:28:00 AM
I mentioned about six weeks ago (the last time I was liberated from my sewing machine) that I was making costumes for our community theater's production of this play. It's my absolute favorite show, and I begged them to put it on so I could costume it! I still have about 20 pictures to take, but these two slideshows have pictures of the ones I have so far:

I did all of the women's clothing - every dress and petticoat and bloomers and winter coats (no pictures yet) and hats and...)  and the colorful shirts for the men.

In case you are interested, my youngest son is the big guy with the lightest red hair. He wears an orange shirt for the party scene. He plays Frank. My husband is one of the suitors - black pants and vest with a red tie. DH did all the set - the sawhorses, etc. He didn't paint that amazing backdrop, though. That is the work of one of the high school students!!

Oh, and today I made my granddaughter a dress, too. She wanted to be the orange bride, for Uncle Matthew. He played Frank.
