Kindergarten Nap Mat patterns or tutorials?

Kindergarten Nap Mat patterns or tutorials?
    on: July 22, 2008, 04:40:02 PM
Hi everyone!  My son is going to enter kindergarten in just two short weeks and is required to have a "cloth" nap mat to take with him.  Naturally, I want to make it for him myself.  I have searched high and low, but can't find a pattern that seems to be "it."  Does anyone have any suggestions or links to patterns or tutorials?

Thanks so much for your help!

In the past few years many children have brought small blankets with pillows attached at the top that fold up into a pocket that is on the back of the pillow.  I don't have a resource for the pattern but I think that adding a small pillow to a mat would be pretty easy.

I just made 30 little floor cushions for my students (I teach 1-6 grade music) out of an old duvet and high loft batting.  I just cut two rectangles of fabric, sewed them together on 3 sides, turned it right sides out, put batting cut to the same size inside, and topstitched the open edge shut.  You could easily make these any size you wanted to.  I blogged about mine here if my directions are a bit vague:  emadethis.wordpress.com
