Quilts - Share your photos and completed projects!

Here's my most recent... I made this for a pregnant friend (baby's gender is unknown). I loved this quilt and had a hard time giving it away.

Anyone else have quilts to share? I've only made a few, but I love it and can tell this will become a lifelong hobby.

(If you are unsure how to post a photo, the easiest way is to go to photobucket.com and upload your photo, then click on the "IMG Code for Forums & Bulletin Boards and copy and paste the code to your post here).

I've made lots of quilts. This is one I'm working on now for an orphanage in Mexico. At this point I'm playing with arranging an applique design over the RailFence pattern. I have a japanese-flavored print that I will use for the second border. I will be doing Sashiko embroidery when it's time to quilt the piece.

This is a 1930s SawBlade quilt that I made for my closest friend. She loves little bitty cute prints. I loved this quilt and like you, got a little attached to it. Smiley Smiley It has stipple quilting

This is another that was a favorite. It's called a "Turkish Cross"  Basically, it's a 9 patch quilt. I used French Country prints in varying shades of teal, mustard, brick. It's free-motion quilted with large circular pinwheel shapes and has a large rooster free motion quilted in the corner. While most things I make are gifts, this one I kept. Smiley Smiley

Thanks, iluvkyoto! It's called "A Few Pointers" and it is THE easiest quilt I've ever made. I highly recommend it. You can easily get the top of the quilt done in just a few hours.

I love seeing everyone's beautiful projects.  I am about to begin my very first quilt (crib-sized) and I'm a little nervous.  I just need to dig in and start cutting!

Once you start quilting I don't think there is a way out! But it's an addiction I am proud to have!

                      Hi everyone!

I recently finished a baby quilt for cousins of ours that just had a baby girl.  I used a windmill pattern and set the squares on point.  I'll try to attach the pics below, but you can see more here: http://kristenunraveled.blogspot.com/2008/05/nadias-quilt.html

Thank you so much!  I was really pleased with how it came out.  It was my first attempt at true piecing, and I definitely clipped some of the tips of the triangles.

This is a quilt I started for my husband years ago.

It is the 12 Labors of Hercules and will act as a tapestry in his mantuary.

Lessons learned along the way -
always buy good fabric. The top of the quilt was made from cheap fabric purchased from a large discount store. I think this is why I originally stopped quilting the quilt. It was such a pain to work worth - not forgiving at all.
Ditto on the thread. Good thread made a difference and I was not expecting it to.
And - just do it. There were many things on this quilt I had never tried before. At first I was afraid to screw up the quilt but by the end my thought was - what is the worst that could happen? I have to re-do something. The best? I learn a new skill.

                              Happy quilting! Beth

Hmmm - can't seem to get my photo to load - a picture of it is on my blog:  http://life-is-a-musical.blogspot.com/
