I finished my Yellow Brick Road pattern today... I used all black & white patterns and I like how it turned out. It's my first bigger-than-a-baby-quilt and it was hard! But it turned our reasonably well with few mistakes, so I am happy with it.

I did it!  I finished my first quilt.  This is for my daughter's first big girl bed.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out.  It was nice to enter the quilting world with a small and simple project.  I've already adding the border on my 2nd quilt.  Totally hooked.

smithiness - The quilt turned out beautiful!  Do you mind sharing what pattern you used?  I've never done a quilt before, and new to sewing, but I want to make one for my daughter's big girl bed as well.  It's been months and I just keep going back and forth on it.  After seeing your finished quilt, I'm inspired!

bluhimmy  -- I don't have a pattern to share with you, because I just made it up.  My daughter's bed is from IKEA and isn't a standard bed size, so I had to just figure it out.  It was fairly easy to figure out using the length and width of the bed as a guideline.  You should totally go for it.  It was so much fun!
