Irish fabric shops

I am off to Ireland in a few weeks and wonder if anyone knows some great little fabric shops to visit on my travels. I'll be in the SW (mainly counties Clare and Limerick) and probably a day trip to Galway and one to Dublin. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Wow that sounds wonderful. I don't know anything about shops in Ireland but wanted to say have a great trip.I've always wanted to go to Ireland. My dh's family was from Cork county-well his great grandparents were.

It should be fun. We're surprising my cousin for her 40th b-day. My mom is from Limerick and we have a lot of family there. However, my last trip was more a pub crawl combined with a wedding. Not crafty in the least. I'm hoping to find some indie shops to browse. I like to touch the fabric but right now the best fabric source I have is the internet.

I was in all those places in March and couldn't find a fabric shop. I did by lots of tea towels that I plan to cut apart and make into cosmetic bags and purses. I think I spent too much time drinking Guinness and irish whiskey! You can get Irish Linen (and lots of other things) at the Blarney Woollen Mills - you can find these stores throughout country. On a side note, if you can get to Northern Ireland, go there and check out the murals. They define the "troubles" in Northern Ireland. We were in Derry and Belfast. I loved Belfast!
