Reusable, foldable tote bag made from THE free purse pattern list

I made this reusable folding tote bag based on one of the tutorials on the insane list (http://sewmamasew.com/forum/index.php?topic=1943.0) caitlinsmom posted.

I changed it to french seams though - the other way looked more time consuming.

This will be easy to throw into my purse for unexpected shopping. And, due to the nature of the print, I don't think I will be able to easily lose this in my bag.

Neat! And you're right about the fabric, there is nothing harder than finding something in a purse Wink I love it!

That's great.  I love the bright prints!  Isn't that list amazing!  If we're in the mood to make a bag we can just go there and find something we love  Grin

Looks great! And useful too, especially now that a lot of stores charge you if you forget to bring your own bag!

You did a great job on the bag.  I really like the idea of one that folds up and takes less room.

Love your reusable, foldable bag.  I'ts great that reusable bags are back in vogue. I remember way back when plastic shopping bags were not given out at supermarkets etc, and we NEVER went shopping with out our string bags and shopping bags.I remember when mum used to send me shopping with the "old fashioned" home made bags when I was a teenager and "everyone else" just used the plastic ones the shops started to supply. Some things we celebrate as progress turn out not to be progress at all.   Now I am old enough to have a teenager of my own and it is lovely to have all these new fabrics to make bags from and enjoy the process of making them as well as using them.   Everything old is new again!!! I love your tote.  I like to use those when I go to craft fairs, flea markets, etc.  I have a really big one that I bought, but now I want to make one.  I love that list that catlinsmom posted.  It has tons of great ideas all in one place.  Thanks for posting your pic.

That is fantastic! How long did it take to make?

Hi Need to Sew. It took maybe two hours total. That's only b/c I did a french seam like in Helen's fabulous bag tutorial. I like the look of finished seams. It was so easy to cut out / put together. Even with my kids underfoot.

wow it looks neat and nice!!! good job you got there!!!its color and design is pleasing to the eyes i should say. its wonderful that it has a dual use and form
