Skirt Lining Help

    Skirt Lining Help

I am getting ready to make a skirt that probably needs a light lining to prevent any embarrassing moments Smiley  What is the best fabric for this?  I am using cotton for the skirt.  Thank you.  Carrie

My personal preference to go with cotton would be a coordinating solid color/white cotton with similar drape in a slightly lighter weight. If it's a straight or A-line skirt then just go for something crisp. If it's a wider skirt that will fall into natural folds then you might want something softer like a lawn or a voile.

Then again if you plan on wearing the skirt with nylons then you might want something really smooth like a cotton sateen or even a silk habotai for the super smooth but natural breathability. So many options!

I recently made a cotton skirt and lined it with broadcloth. My skirt is pretty full and the broadcloth worked perfectly.
