Need Suggestions for Flying

    Need Suggestions for Flying
    on: August 10, 2008, 12:14:11 PM
I'm heading on a 13-hour-2-connecting-flights journey next week to Utah and I dread the thought of not being able to take my knitting needles or embroidery, etc. (due to airline restrictions) to pass away the time. Especially since I'll have no little ones along to occupy me! So, any suggestions on airline-compatible   crafty-type activities? Or will I have to occupy myself with a good book instead!?!

I just took my bamboo circular needles on a flight with me last week. No issues...

It really all depends on the people running security the day you go through. Different people let different things go through. (Hubby and I go through more airports than I care to think about.) My sister has gotten through with a 3" knife in her purse (she forgot it was in there), and I have had a plastic butter knife taken away from me and thrown away. Whatever you take, make sure you could live without it if they decide it's unsafe and they have to throw it away.

I wouldn't even take my plastic crochet hooks with me, because I've seen them take away much sillier things.
