Shot Cotton?

    Shot Cotton?
    on: September 14, 2009, 01:57:35 PM
I want to make a quilt mixing shot cottons and regular quilting cotton, but I'm not sure if they'll mix well?  Would it be tough to quilt? Or would quilting over it detract from the shimmer?

I've noticed there's two types available...one by Kaffe Fassett and one by Robert Kaufman...is there a difference?  Are they different weight?  I can't find a lot of detailed descriptions online about them...

I just came across this today and remembered your post: http://bcharmer.blogspot.com/2010/01/some-delicious-inspiration.html
This post may help with your questions of shot cotton.

Amatricis, your AVATAR is precious- did you make it?
It reminds me of Wilbur and "Charlotte's Web"!

Thanks for the link Irene! I finally got my hands on some shot cotton and it's beautiful! I really really want to make a quilt out of it, just not sure of the quilting style yet. Thanks again!

Elaine--yep, I made the piggy. It's from a pattern by Rumpled Quilt Skins. You should be able to find it on Etsy.
