Even Feed Foot Tension Problems

    Even Feed Foot Tension Problems
    on: October 13, 2009, 10:49:09 PM
When I sew with my even feed foot I get looping on the underside of my fabric and the only way I can seem to get around this is to dial my tension all the way up to 9 and reduce my stitch length to about 2 1/4. If I lengthen the stitch even just a little, I get the same problem. I fiddled with my bobbin tension and it made no difference. When I use my regular foot these tension problems go away. Any ideas?

It sounds like the foot isn't moving the fabric enough through the feed dogs. I would try out another Even Feed foot to see if the problem is with your foot or something with your machine. I doubt it's your machine because you mentioned that it doesn't have any problems with your regular foot.
You may need to buy a new Even Feed foot.
