Middle of the night trips to the bathroom start with a door slam in our house - not very restful for mom! I made this slam stopper to make things a little quieter. If you have different door knobs or a thicker door, you may need to make this larger or smaller.

2 pieces -10" x 1 3/4" fabric for straps
2 pieces - 8" x 4 1/2" fabric for stopper
1-2 old clean socks or other leftover fabric for stuffing
12" narrow elastic
1. Fold the straps length-wise, right sides together, and sew. Turn them right side out.
2. Put the stopper fabric pieces right sides together and sew the long sides. Turn it right side out.
3. Press all 3 pieces. On the stopper, press open ends to the inside about 1/2".
4. Thread elastic through one strap and sew at one end. Tighten it up until the strap and elastic are about 6" long. Sew other end. Repeat with the second strap.
5. Stuff your socks inside the stopper so that it is padded - I used one large sock folded in half with part of the toes cut off.
6. Take all 3 pieces to your door and pin the straps inside each open end so that it fits snugly but loose enough so you can stretch the elastic to take it off.
7. Sew both ends together with the straps tucked inside.
Hope this works for you and your noisy children!
