Need to find a great tutorial for bag-making

Hi all, I'm new here and this is my first post.  I've been sewing for awhile, making quilts and a few clothing items.  I want to make a bag for my MIL out of my hubby's military uniform, but I have not been able to find a tutorial that fits the style I want to make  (I have never made a bag before).  I found on here at SMS, but I believe it was a tote bag. 
 
I don't want to make a plain tote.  I'm thinking of more of a large purse, not too awfully deep, with pockets on the inside.  Kind of like a messenger bag, but that's too big.  Would any of you have any ideas of where I could find something like this?  I'm a visual learner, so clear pictures are a must.

I think the Jordy bag is very popular for people who don't like the size of the messenger bag

I bought a book at Borders called Bag Boutique by Amy Birackman, I LOVE this book! It's got about 20 diff. bags to make,  plus they can be interchanged for more of a variety! Patterns and clear instructions are included!!!

Hi I just wanted to say that  www.craftster.org  is a great resource for bag and purse tutorials, not just for the messanger bag that was mentioned in a previous reply.  If you go to the craft forums and then the bag, purse and wallet category you'll find lots of different purse tutorials.  Your sure to find something close to what youur looking for.
