Sewing Spaces

    Sewing Spaces
    on: August 19, 2008, 02:41:26 PM
    Hello sewers,

This is my first post!  I love my sewing space (especially when it is clean - which is, ashamedly, rarely).  I would looove to see others' sewing spaces though.  It's always helpful to get new and different ideas from other people.  So, please share your space!

You can read about the details of how we made the sewing table here: http://quaintandquirky.blogspot.com/2008/04/spring-cleaning.html

I know this isn't a traditional "Look What I Made!" but I did make it!

That looks amazing!  We recently moved to a new house, and when we were searching for a new place, I fell in love with the master bedroom in the house we eventually got.  Well, my hubby decided he was tired of our bedroom always being trashed out with sewing stuff, so we put our bed in one of the two smaller bedrooms, and he gave me the master for a sewing room!  But, I have no idea where to start organizing a space that large.  I have been dying for some motivation and this post may just be it!  Thank you, and your colors are beautiful!

That is a gorgeous space!  I just have a small area right now, and I'm going to be moving soon.  So, I hope at the new house I can achieve something that nice.

Great space.  My husband is working on mine as we speak.  Can't wait for it to be done and to move out of the dinning room!

What an awesome and inspiring work space!  I especially love your sewing table - my husband has used a similar idea in our home office with a door suspended over two filing cabinets and it works great.  I never though of trying the same idea in my sewing room!  Right now I just have a thrift store dining table, which is a wonderful sized work space, but the table is a little wobbly, especially if I get sewing at high speeds!  Smiley  Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Keri, your space is just lovely! I don't have a space right now. Our house is overflowing with children! We just had two new ones and there's not enough bedrooms for everyone so we're a bit cramped until we build our addition. I have a desk in a corner of our bedroom, that I'm thinking of using as a small sewing space. I'm only just learning to sew, really, so a small space is fine for me for now anyway. Great post...but I'd love to see more pictures!!!

I'm VERY jealous.  I have part of a closet for stash and part of a kitchen table for sewing.  I have to do my projects in stages.  Ironing and cutting, then the sewing, then the finishing.

This is inspiring for me -- I have a closet that could easily be transformed to make a great sewing nook and yet I haven't gotten around to doing anything to it in the year that we have lived in our house!  Thanks for posting the pictures.  Again, you are an inspiration!

Keri, your space looks amazing!  So serene and beautiful that you must be inspired all the time to mess it right back up! Cleaning and reorganizing my sewing space is on the tippy top of my to-do list this week because hubby and toddler are visiting grandma.  I'm hoping to have photos to share soon.

Your space is awesome. Love it. I would love to have a larger space and a really large cutting table! Dream dream.

Thanks gals!  You should see it now though!  Oooh la la messy!  My husband always threatens to write an anti-blog showing the REAL story!

The best thing about having a sewing space though is knowing my inventory.  No more buying something then realizing I already have it.
Anyone else care to share their spaces?
