9-Patch Quilt Block Swap

    9-Patch Quilt Block Swap
    on: November 10, 2009, 09:57:27 AM
    Nine Patch Block Swap

We’ve decided to host our first quilt block swap, and we hope that you will participate.  For this first time we’ve chosen the Nine Patch quilt block. That way everyone, from beginner to expert, can participate.  Once you receive your blocks we would love to see what you’ve done with them, especially since there are so many possibilities!

If you would like to participate, please email me your name and mailing address.  Once we have an even number of people I will send out your group’s information and the swap will start!

    *Email sewflakesquilts@yahoo.com*

    Rules:
Each group will consist of four people. Each person will make 6 blocks which will allow for 2 to be sent to each person.  By the end of the swap you will have 6 blocks from random places around the country and possibly the globe!

You can make the blocks out of any 100% cotton quilting fabric you would like.  There is no particular theme or color.  Have fun with it!

The finished block size will be 6”, so make sure your unfinished blocks are 6 ½” when you ship.

It would be nice if you included a note about yourself, your fabric choices, and any other little interesting tidbits with your blocks, but you are not required to.

If you would like to send and/or receive more than 6 blocks you can email the people in your group and arrange that if you would like, but the minimum is 6 blocks (2 per person).

Be sure to wrap the blocks in tissue paper or place them in a zip-lock bag so that they are protected from the post office.  (Sometimes envelopes get torn, and we don’t want blocks ruined because of it.)

I just wanted to remind everyone that we are still accepting people for the 9-patch quilt block swap.  We need a handful more of people before we can start, and hopefully we will be able to start soon!
