Scalloped Garland Sew Along!!

    Scalloped Garland Sew Along!!
    on: November 27, 2009, 09:06:06 AM
The weekend after Thanksgiving is traditionally the time when we start to "deck the halls" with our holiday decor.  This year, I thought it would be fun to use lots of the scalloped garlands I've been sewing.  It's a fun and simple project with such sweet results - I thought maybe you'd like to sew along!!

To begin, you can refer to my original tutorial for the pattern and instructions:
    http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=1556

I used tons of Jennifer Paganelli's Designs for the original project:

But if you want to go a bit more Christmas-y, these would be fun!

If you'd like to sew along, just leave a reply!

    Happy Sewing!!

I'm in!  I think I'll make a birthday one first though as our baby will be one on the 24th!

I had a hoot making one of these for thanksgiving and I've got a half dozen in the works for Christmas. The big goal here is to make them for every holiday so that I have a happy set of rotating garlands. (I know: it's a skosh over the top, but whaddyagonnado when they're so stinking cute?)

          Here's a pic of my t-giving garland: http://www.gingerhendrix.com/wiener_dog_tricks/2009/11/sewing-party-report-.html

Finished and hung last night. I love it!

My husband think it looks more like a birthday garland, but I don't care. I love these fabrics from Jennifer Paganelli's Pretty Please collection. I've been itching to use it for something so I went for it. It may not be Christmass-y, but it brings me cheer.

Thanks for the tutorial and inspiration Jessie!

Very nice!  I do agree with your husband but who cares if it makes you happy  Cheesy

I have yet to start mine.  I did make a wreath though Smiley

I have a happy birthday garland I made with paper a few years back that I put out for all of our birthdays, but now I'm thinking I need this one for the rest of the time...ooh, maybe as a window treatment in my craft room or the kids' bedrooms...my wheels are turning.  If only I had more time before Christmas!
