Babyproofing my foot pedal

    Babyproofing my foot pedal

I'm seriously not complaining...I'm really grateful that my 7 month old allows me to sew while he's up and crawling about playing, but he's totally fascinated by power cords.  We've pillow-barracaded every loose computer wire, but the one I can't seem to figure out how to keep him from finding and chewing is my foot pedal wire.  Any thoughts on how I can make it less enticing for him?

Perhaps toys that are only "mama is sewing" toys?  Perhaps he plays with the cord because it is 'new' ... or not something he normally gets to play with.  If there were a few toys (new ones?) in his space that he could play with, maybe that would make the cords less enticing.

When my kids were that age I wrapped it up and put it under the machine cover every time. It was a royal pain but I think it was worth it.

Thanks SO much for this!  My foot pedal is now neatly concealed under my sewing machine cozy and a fabric scrap scotch-taped to the bed hides the rest of the cord.  I sewed for a couple of hours yesterday and didn't have to rescue my cord from my son once!  Success!!!
