I like this idea... I had already planned to do something similar, I wonder if it will qualify?

I am going to make muslin bags to replace the plastic produce bags we put our produce in. I will first use it as a gift bag, to deliver my Christmas present, then, the recipient can use it for produce.

These would just be simple muslin bags, with a drawstring at the top, big enough for a head of lettuce or some broccoli etc.

I wonder if this qualifies, because it's much easier than making a Grocery Bag. Either way, I'll be making them and hopefully now I've given you a good idea too! Smiley

Making 5 bags is quite a challenge in this busy time! I'll try... Let's see how far I get.

Woo!  I'm so in for this.  I have already been working on reusable grocery bags for Christmas presents. Time to step it up a notch!

This is great. I have sewn 30 bags this month alone to give to family and friends as Christmas gifts. I still have 16 more to sew. The pattern I am using has an inside pocket and it rolls and buttons up so the user can tuck it in their purse.

I've made five of these now based on a simple pattern in a Japanese sewing book. The last one is lined; although I like how sturdy it is, it doesn't roll up as small as the others and won't be as easy to tuck in the purse. Also takes longer - the first four were only an hour each! Giving these to: MIL, SIL, teacher, holiday auction at school, and my mom.
