Sewing Machines with Alphabet Stitches?

I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. I just found out that Brother makes a machine (PC-420, abt. $500) that is a sewing machine with alphabet stitches, in three fonts! I've been eying embroidery machines, but had no idea where to start. Of course...all I REALLY want to do is have monogramming/personalization capabilities for the goodies I sell in my etsy shop.

Has anyone used the Brother PC-420? Or do you know of any other machines that have that capability? I'm not in the market to drop $1K on an embroidery machine right now...but $500? That's something I could work towards!

From what I am learning, for $595 I would get a Innov-is 80 that is sold by brother dealers.  I believe that the ones they sell are built to a higher standard, plus the dealer will do training and repairs on the machine. Box stores don't.

@ Eagle - so the Inovis-80 has alphabet capabilities as well?

Yes the brochure sitting in front of me says 55 alphanumeric characters.
