What can't you wait to sew in 2010?

What can't you wait to sew in 2010?
    on: December 31, 2009, 08:23:04 AM
So my bookmarked "to sew" folder on my computer has gotten out of hand and with the holidays winding down I am eager to get back to my machine but am clearly overwhelmed.
What tops your "I cant wait to make that!" list? I would love to hear it!

      More quilts!

I also bought Amanda Blake Soule's books (www.soulemama.com) and am keen to give some of her projects a go.

A ton of stuff in One Yard Wonders.  I can't wait!  I already made the trash thing for the car.  Love it!

Clothing for me that I can wear outside the house and not hear a little voice inside my head (that strangely sounds just like Michael Kors) saying 'it looks homesewn' or 'it looks MOB (mother of the bride).  If I can leave the house wearing clothes I make without hearing either of these in my head I'll be happy.

I also have a long list of things to make from One Yard Wonders, and my copy of Sew Liberated just arrived (thank you Sew, Mama, Sew!!!) and there are a bunch of things I want to try from there too!

I would love to make a King-size quilt for my bed as well as finish the one for my living room which I started months and months ago. This is the one I've had in mind for awhile: Cherry House Quilts City Park Pattern.
Also, I want to make AB Weekender Bag. I've had my eye on this bag for quite some time and would love to finally make it.
And lastly, make more clothes & things for my family. I'm always making gifts and sending them off. My own children and husband have only a few handmade items and I would really like to work on that this year.

The top of my list is some clothes for me and my kids. I'd love to get a quilt done too. I've got some tops finished that have been waiting to be quilted for a couple years. I'd also like to try making a bag. And learn more about machine embroidery as I haven't been able to use that feature much yet on my new machine.

Oh I just got the one yard wonders book too, and I'm dying to make lots of things from it.  Plus I just found out that we're expecting our first child, so I'm anxious to start on all kinds of baby things.  2010 is going to be a great year!

Hmmm. I can't wait to sew uninterrupted for three hours straight but that's not going to happen until September. (bad mommy!)

I have a huge list . . . the things I would really like to finish are Easter outfits for my kids before they get too big for matchy-matchy, a quilted headboard/hanging for my ILs, a quilt for my DD, something for DH who I hardly ever sew for I feel bad, and my living room drapes which I have Valori Wells' Del Hi fabric for and it is soooo great.

And I have a list of little tutorials that I would like to put on my blogs, just some little tricks that I've learned over the years that I think others might find useful.

Many, many things, Weekender bag for myself, roman blind for bedroom, curtains for sewing room, roman for bathroom, tunic for myself, roman for daughters door, dresses for little girl next door,...  will I get it all done?  Sure! Just waiting for the sugar from the cookies I ate all December to kick in.

I also have a few things from the One Yard Wonders book I want to sew. The towel bag before our trip to FL would be nice!
I would also like to sew a sleeve for our new mini book. I'll have to creat my own though.

I just ordered my copy of "One-Yard Wonders" so I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival. I already have my eye on the collapsible shopping tote and the cute little dress/nightgown on the front cover. I'm also planning to branch out from making purses to more advanced things like aprons for all of my friends. Also I (bravely or foolishly) splurged on the Amy Butler Lotus Tunic pattern in the hopes that I'll be able to master that by the end of the year.
