applique with a serger?

    applique with a serger?
    on: January 06, 2010, 03:07:47 PM
This is my first post here. hi!

A neighbor gave me an sewing book from '94. It is all about serging.

Anyway, several of the projects call for doing applique with the serger and there are no instructions on how to actually accomplish this task.

For the life of me, I can't figure it out!

The upper and lower loopers  keep getting in the way Wink

    Has anyone done this?

Am I missing something? (I mean aside from my serger's instruction book Tongue )

Could you show us a picture?

I can only think of serging the edge of the appliqué and then actually applying it with the regular machine. Like the narrow edge, can't think what it's called.

it looks just like a regular applique.

I'm betting that's what they did and then used fabric glue or something to hold it down.
