What a fun little project! I think I'm going to start making these for birthdays and such instead of buying paper cards. Here are my two love notes. One is for my 4 yr old son and the other is for my 6 month old daughter. I embroidered a post mark of Feb 14 2010 on the chalkcloth one. You can't really see it here but, if you go to my blog and click on the picture you can see it in better detail. For my daughter, being that she's only 6 months old, I put a simple "I LOVE YOU" on the front and put 4 layers of plastic (from a shopping bag) on the inside so that it makes a crinkling sound when you squeeze it.

A big, "Thank you!" to Sew Mama Sew for the tutorial and contest. I wish I had time to do more. Too many projects going on right now. I also posted them on my blog if you wanted to read more about them. Enjoy!

This was the best I could do. Something went wrong in converting inches into cm. So, the envelope got a little twisted.
But I guess it looks ok.
Oh! The message is in Portuguese (I'm Portuguese) and I made this to offer to my husband (my eternal boyfriend) on Valentine's Day.

The fabrics used were red stripes cotton and dark blue denim.

My first post, hopefully this will work...I saw the True Love Contest and had to join in...while I don't have a love, I do love the idea of love...so that has to count for something.

I made my Valentine of old fashioned pillow ticking, chamois for the envelope, and cotton fabrics for the insert.  The stitching was done on 32 count linen using DMC embroidery floss.  (The graph for stitching is on my blog www.acreativedreamer.blogspot.com in case you'd like it...it's for personal use only.) I did change the envelope a bit, and I stuffed the insert to make it a bit thicker...The end product is a reminder to never let the playfulness go...

              The outside front...

              The outside back...

              The inside..."Tonight" ...

              The inside "Not Tonight"...

And how the finished Valentine looks nestled among the bed pillows...

I love it! It is so cute it made me laugh. My husband said that he didn't "need" one, but I just may have to make one for him "tonight". Thanks for sharing such a cute idea!

I love everyone's cards - I can't wait to see others!  I laughed at yours too ACreativeDreamer.  I don't know if my husband would appreciate the "Not Tonight" side either.  Smiley

Here's my entry which I made for my husband.  We are currently building our own house.  We're doing all the building ourselves (no contractors or anything), so it's very gratifying work but sometimes very overwhelming.  I thought he'd enjoy a little replica of our future house in card form.  Smiley

The front with our initials carved in the tree...

                  Our little house.  Grin

The inside - "Love makes a house a home"

I think he's really going to like it, and it was a lot of fun to make.  If only our real house could be done in a few days!  Thanks for the tutorial Jennifer!

Both my mom and my niece's birthdays are this weekend so I made cards for them instead of Valentine's ones yet.  I do plan to make those too in the upcoming weeks because these are addictive!

This is my valentine for my husband. He is deployed right now in Iraq, I hope that if I mail this tomorrow it will get to him in time for valentine's day (crossing fingers). It says "You're my lobster", as Ross was Racheal's lobster on Friends, and I'm a Friends fanatic. Lobsters mate for life. The envelope didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, but I am still getting used to a new sewing machine.  Grin

I love involving my little girl whenever I am making something.  She isn't quite two yet, but she enjoys doing whatever she can.  We made this valentine for Daddy.  A little elephant following a bigger elephant on the back of the envelope with the note saying, "I'll follow you anywhere." (A joke because she follows us around constantly).  On the back of the note, I've added two more elephants with their trunks entwined.  This has been so much fun, I am planning on making more!  Thanks!
