I  made my three children these cards. It's a really good idea because they tend to collect things and these will hold up much better than paper. Thanks for the great tutorial.

Each one of my children have an endearing name that I've called them ever since I found out they would be joining our family.  I've been looking for a way to memorialize these sweet names so that I could hang them on the wall, and this project was perfect!
This one is for my eldest, my "Sweet Pea".

I decided to make this for my husband for Valentine's day and our Anniversary which is on the 16th. I have never really ever crossed stitched before and I think it turned out rather well. I made it out of jeans. It also have a very personal message on it. We always use 1 4 3 as a way to say I love you. http://hendrixville.blogspot.com/2010/02/valentine-present.html

I would like to just add the pictures but I don't know how to! I seem to be having some problems.

This is just me bringing my husband a lot of Valentine's ballons (I love them more then my husband, but get carried away by the ballons before I get a chance to tell him I love him.  Luckily I have a banner says "P.S. I love You"  We love the movie, and I love the book.

I don't have a flickr account, and I'm new to post thing here, i hope this will work

I loved making these. I guess I didn't get as creative as some of the others, but I think my husband will like it.

              Hello, everyone,

Below are photographs of the valentine that I designed for one of my sisters.

The stems of the flowers spell out the message:  I LOVE YOU.

Once opened, the "envelope" doubles as a small cloth napkin.

I omitted the stabilizer and left the square intact instead of cutting off the bottom point to form the classic envelope shape.

              Thanks!

I had fun with this. I made this for a swap in my mom's group. I left the front blank instead of embroidering the other mom's name so that she could re-use it herself. I also used only fabric and scraps that I already had. I whipped up a little bag out of the fabric on the back of the heart for the extra words. I also included some blank felt pieces so she could embroider her own words as well.

I'm always looking for ways to use up a vintage fabric stash!

This tutorial was so inspiring! I decided to do Valentine's from my twin boys (who are 14 months old) to all of their special people.

Each one has two layers of fabric to the front, with the little monster in the corner embroidered on the underlayer and the rest of the embroidery on the top. This allowed me to cut the top layer and let the little monster look like he was ripping his way through.

The backs of each card feature two more little monsters appliqued along with the message from the twins.

Here's one with a green theme:

                    And the backside of it:
                    http://www.flickr.com/photos/45770495@N06/4348636825/

I love the seersucker on this set. I used it as the second layer on the front, for the applique on the back and then pieces of it on the inside of the envelope. I frayed the edges of it so it had a worn look. I just love the way this set came out!

And here is a manilla envelope one:
                    http://www.flickr.com/photos/45770495@N06/4349376802/
                    And the backside of it:
                    http://www.flickr.com/photos/45770495@N06/4348629349/

This was the first set I did. I'm not happy with the handstitching on the envelope, but I love the print on the inside of it. I also love the monster appliques. They are done in brown nagahide (proof that stuff is worth more than just 70s couches!).

And here is a red one:
                    http://www.flickr.com/photos/45770495@N06/4349375708/
                    And the backside of it:
                    http://www.flickr.com/photos/45770495@N06/4348628331/

The pictures of this set don't do it justice, but it shows off the embroidery really well. It's got a gold satin on the back of the card and panne' for the monster appliques, which I just love.

And here is a purple one:
                    http://www.flickr.com/photos/45770495@N06/4348626765/
                    And the backside of it:
                    http://www.flickr.com/photos/45770495@N06/4348627259/

This set has the same cute panne' monsters on the reverse but they also have panne' horns in gold, which are fun. and I LOVE the envelope for this set. The stripes are fun and the decorative stitching came out really great.

And here is a garnet one:
                    http://www.flickr.com/photos/45770495@N06/4349373844/
                    And the backside of it:
                    http://www.flickr.com/photos/45770495@N06/4349374248/

This envelope has some sparkle to it, which doesn't show up in the pictures. And the decorative stitching on it is fabulous. It also has the seersucker monsters and panne' accents on the back of the card.

The heart embroidery work on both sides as well as the monsters are from http://www.urbanthreads.com. The monsters are meant to be stuffed animals, but I wanted appliques. I'm planning on doing matching monster key chains for mother's and father's day, which has me so excited!

                    Happy Valentine's Day, all!

Love the idea, So I just had to make one for my valentine of 30 years, I think he'll guess who its from though. I hand dyed and batiked the fabric myself, sewed it up with little pink kisses, and put a matching dotty button on it.
