SF Bay Area/Peninsula

I'm hoping to find a small group of sewers that would love to get together once a month or so for a day of sewing.  I've had little sewing buddy days with one friend, but she's moved to Southern Cali.  It would be so much fun to find other people to sew with.  We could have some time for sewing, sharing our projects, and most probably eating too (a gathering isn't a gathering without some yummy food!).

I'm in Mountain View and I would be interested in a sewing circle.  Actually, we are starting a local guild for modern quilting, which you can check out at bamodernquiltguild.ning.com 
We are planning to meet for the first time on Feb. 16th, so you can get in on the ground level, so to speak, and meet a bunch of local quilters.  I don't know yet exactly what we will do as a guild, but my vision for the group is to help people organize exactly what you are talking about. 

I would love to sew along with others, I get so much energy and enthusiasm by sharing.  I'm less interested in quilts, more interested in apparel/crafting.  I'm in east Bay (Berkeley) so Peninsula isn't a perfect fit.  What do you have in mind for time, location?

I go both ways - quilting and clothing - and currently live in San Jose, but may be moving up to Union City / Newark area. Maybe even closer to Berkeley. Have you had any luck in finding / creating a sewing circle?

I know this thread is old, but figure this is the place for SF Bay Area inquiries. I'm also in Berkeley and would really like to get together with fellow sewers in the area. I do both craft sewing (toys, bags) and garments for myself. If anyone is still checking in here, lemme know!

I would love to start a sewing circle! I'm a beginning sewist, so it would be nice to work on projects with some new friends and share inspiration and tips along the way. I am located in Oakland.
