If you're on the Near Northside, I know there's a Modern Quilt Guild group in Chicago that meets in Forest Park and a "Northern Illinois" MQG that meets in Grayslake.

Sorry gulnaz--nothing ever came of it. I'm still very interested, though in full disclosure I don't have the time to be the lead organizer. Are you still interested? Hopefully today's post on the blog will generate some more people...

Hi everyone. I saw the blog post on Sew Mama Sew and clicked through to find out about interest in a sewing circle for Chicago. I know that there are official quilting groups active in Chicago, but I don't actually quilt yet. I sew clothing for my two daughters (who I stay home with) and myself as well as bags, etc. I have a large home sewing studio! I would love to host a monthly sewing group if it meets in the evenings or maybe on a Saturday afternoon. I live in the Lincoln Square neighborhood and would be happy to organize. You can learn more about me at my blog: www.mommysaidsew.com. Email me at liz@mommysaidsew.com if you would like to get in on discussions about a Chicago Sewing Circle. Best, Liz Mouse
