Hi Fellow Sewing Mamas!
My name is JennX and I'm part of a crafting group that gets together once a month and has a big old crafting shindig!
We rent out a church hall, everyone chips in $5, with a ton of tables and lots of space to spread out.
It's not a sewing only group, we have a large number of knitters, some scrapbookers, and people who work on all kinds of stuff. Last month we had our first spinner!
This month I'll be continuing a sew-along with a friend, we're making hoodies from Ottobre magazine for our sons. I'm teaching her to sew knits on her regular machine. Plus, I'll hopefully be piecing together a surprise Anniversary quilt for my husband. It all depends on if my son naps today so I can get it cut.
We've also hosted how-to's and other group focused sew alongs. Last spring I showed everyone how to draft a simple elastic waist A-line skirt. We're trying to figure out what project we'll be working on this spring.
The group is on Meet-up, Facebook, and MyPeopleConnection.com and we have our Monthly meeting this weekend, Sunday January 31st.
I'll post links to the different places where you can sign up. It's run by my friend Jen T. What can I say? I'm of the age group where half my friends are Jennifer or Jessica!
If you have any questions please let me know! I'm only able to steal a few minutes away to the internet during the day when my 17 month old isn't looking, but as soon as he's down at night I'll be back!
