Janome Heartstruth - anyone have one?
    on: August 29, 2008, 07:02:26 PM
Anyone have the Janome heartstruth - it's the HT2008 serial?

I'm wondering how many layers of fabric you've sewn through safely?  I know they say 8...but is that 8 very thin pieces or 8 THICK pieces?  And what does that do to the motor??

    Thanks!

Hi there!  I just purchased the HeartTruth last weekend.  I'm a very newbie sewer, so I don't know if this will help any, but at the dealer where I purchased the machine, he demo'd some denim fabric, folded over twice and this machine sewed through it without any  problems.  I was pretty impressed!  He did say you'd need to get a sturdier needle to be doing sewing such thick fabric like denim, but it seemed like sewing through several layers was not going to be a problem for this machine.

I can't say out of personal experience if it does or not, as I haven't gotten around to doing much other than sewing thin cotton layers, but I'm really enjoying the HeartTruth as my very first sewing machine  Smiley

I work for a store that sells Janome's (I get NO commission or bonus for promoting them) and I LOVE this little machine!  It has a nicer straight stitch than my $1000+ machine, it will sew over eight layers of DENIM (I've demo'd this myself) and is a great beginner machine or even a good little machine for toting to classes etc. since it is lightweight.  Go for it!

This sounds like a good machine!  I'm wondering if  your purchase includes a walking foot?
          Thanks,
